Christmas Greeters

Bringing The Holiday Sprit To Everyone

Holiday Season at Sharing Hands starts the first of October when our Food Bank begins receiving applications from low income families and seniors for Christmas Dinners and presents. In December information about the children is hung on the "Giving Trees" for shoppers to use when purchasing the presents that are distributed with the dinners.

The Food Bank staff and volunteers also start gathering food items for the Christmas Dinners and coordinate presents to ensure that there will be enough for every family. It all comes together the week before Christmas when over 150 families and their children, plus about 75 seniors, pick up their dinners and presents (seniors receive dinner only). All of the funding for Christmas Greeters comes from the Central Linn community.

Christmas 2020

Last Holiday Season (Christmas 2020), things were a little different. Of course everyone had to maintain the standard social distancing and wearing a mask. Despite the event limitations, Santa and Mrs. Clause payed a visit for the event! They were a very popular part of the event!
