Bring Your Cans and Bottles
A very simple thing you can do is to bring us your empty $0.10 deposit cans and bottles. Just rinse them out, bag them up, and drop off the whole bag at Sharing Hands. This is much easier than hauling them yourself to a redemption center and feeding all those cans and bottles into a machine one at a time. And it truly helps us out. If multiple households or businesses give us their recyclables, those $0.10 deposits really add up.
You can bring us your redeemable cans and bottles anytime Tuesday through Friday from 10–3:30.
Most drinks in cans, glass bottles, and plastic bottles bought in Oregon have a refund value. The Oregon BottleDrop organization offers this guidance on what types of cans and bottles you can and cannot return for deposit.
